The Fox Valley Sail and Power Squadronis a unit of United States Power Squadrons®. United States Power Squadrons® is a non-profit educational organization devoted to making boating safer and more enjoyable by teaching a variety of boating and boating-related courses.
Fox Valley Sail and Power Squadron is a part of District 20 of the United States Power Squadrons® which covers Northern and Central Illinois, Northwest Indiana and Southeast Wisconsin.
Fox Valley Sail and Power Squadron members are located throughout the Northwestern suburbs of Illinois and take pleasure in boating on the Fox River, Chain of Lakes and Lake Michigan.
Civic Service
The Fox Valley Sail and Power Squadron offer boating courses to the public several times a year.
The United States Power Squadrons® is a partner with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary in the Vessel Safety Check (VSC) program. A VSC is a complimentary, non-punitive check of your boat’s federally required safety equipment.
Self Education
Throughout the year, members are offered a variety of courses including navigation, engine maintenance, weather, sail, etc. Although safety through education is our prime concern, saving may be realized on insurance premiums by taking the courses available to our members.
Fraternal Boating Club
Fox Valley Sail and Power Squadron enjoys a variety of social activities during the year both on and off the water. These include dinners, cruises and parties. General membership meetings often include guest speakers on boating and boating related topics.
